Vacuum cupping (plastic cupping) is a modern technique in which plastic cups are applied to the skin, and suction is created using a manual pump. It’s commonly used to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation.
The therapy may leave round red or purple marks (bruising) on the skin for a few days, depending on the individual. Mild discomfort or soreness in the treated area is also common, but these effects are usually temporary.
